Chapel Hill North, our apartments in Chapel Hill, is already furnished with energy saving appliances. Did you know that there are other things that you can do to conserve energy as well as save a few bucks? Check out these energy saving tips.
We know you hear about energy saving light bulbs, but it really is true. For just a few dollars more than a standard incandescent light bulb, you can buy halogen, CFL or even LED light bulbs.
They do cost a bit more up front, but they last from 10 to 50 times longer than the standard bulbs, plus they save energy when you use them. Just don’t forget to turn them off when you no longer need them.
Put your computer, printer and modem all on a power strip, then turn the strip off when you’re not using your computer. Even though your machine may be powered off, it’s still using power.
The same goes with other small appliances. Either put them on a power strip or unplug them when not in use.
