When you’re living at Chapel Hill North, you’ve got a great kitchen. But what good is it if you don’t know how to use it? If you’re looking for things to do near Durham, maybe some cooking classes are just what you need, and some of the best in the area can be found at Southern Season.

Learn new skills and abilities at these classes.

Southern Season is taking cooking classes to a whole new level and you don’t have to have experience to pick up the offered tips and tricks. Instruction is not culinary school style, it’s more informal and personal.

Of course, most of the dishes you will learn to make are usually Southern style, but the techniques you will pick up are priceless.

Some of the current courses include biscuit making, canning, gluten-free pizza and knife skills. One of the classes even teaches students how to plan and prepare a full brunch menu.

For some extra cool and slightly different fare, try the sushi classes or the French Bistro style instruction.

You can find Southern Season at the University Mall, located at 201 S. Estes Drive in Chapel Hill.

After you take a class, tell us about your experience on our Facebook page.
