A New Season of Carolina Performing Arts at UNC-Chapel Hill

Our community in Chapel Hill enjoys an active lifestyle and looks forward to the new season of Carolina Performing Arts at UNC-Chapel Hill.

Just some of the performances for the new season at UNC-Chapel Hill include:

  • Tales from the Cosmic Ocean will take place on Sept. 5. It will be an evening of Yakshagana from India, featuring Vidya Kolyur.
  • Youssou N’Dour on Sept. 16. This exuberant young composer and singer pioneers an exciting fusion of Senegalese percussion and native singing.
  • The Blues Project II from Dorrance Dance will be an extravaganza of tap choreography on Sept. 25 and 26.
  • Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra on Sept. 28 and 29
  • Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis on Oct. 8. This eagerly awaited annual event showcases some of the best talent around.
  • Shabana Azmi, Perilous Crossings on Oct. 11. The film Fire is presented and discussed by this famous performer and activist from India.
  • Curlew River is a composition by Benjamin Britten stars Ian Bostridge and an all-British cast on Nov. 6 and 7.
  • Dianne Reeves the foremost jazz artiste showcases her incandescent vocal skills Nov. 16
  • Milton Nascimento on Nov. 22. This exuberant Brazilian singer-songwriter performs live on stage.

For further information on any of the shows for the coming season contact the Box Office. There is plenty of free parking on the university campus and shows are held in the renowned Memorial Hall, a focal point of the Art Campus.
